Incredible Disc Jockey entertainment for your wedding, party, or dance.
 Can YOU get the Edge?

We've taken many of the most frequently asked questions and saved you the trouble of having to ask them yourself! But...if your question isn't answered here, just drop us a note!

Q: How much do you charge?
A: How much would you like to spend? It may seem like an odd way to answer the question, but the truth is that between our incredibly reasonable rates and our Discount DJ program, our services range from an average of $50 per hour for parties and dances to about $1300 for an entire eight hour wedding reception with an expert wedding DJ. Those clients choosing our Signature Service typically invest a minimum of $3000 for their wedding reception entertainment.

Q: I saw a DJ that...(fill in the blank)...will you do that too?
A: It all depends! If you see something that another DJ has done at a wedding, party, dance, or other event that you'd like to see happen at your event, just let us know and if it's at all possible, we'll be happy to make it happen. Likewise, if there is something that you've seen that you really didn't like, let us know and we'll be sure not to do it.

Q: If our package is for four hours, does that include set-up and travel time?
A: Unlike other services, our 'billable' time ONLY includes the time during which music is playing. We don't charge for for set-up, tear-down, stand-by, travel, or any other 'time'. If you want the music to start at 6PM and end at midnight, you'll only pay for six hours of entertainment. It doesn't matter that your DJ will arrive an hour early to set up and stay an hour late to tear down - our clients only pay for actual performance time.

Q: What makes the Edge different than any other service?
A: Our motto says it all - "It's YOUR event done YOUR way!" We listen to what our clients tell us and custom tailor the entertainment for each event to our clients' needs and wishes. We will certainly make suggestions and offer opinions, but it all comes down to doing exactly what our clients want.

Q: Do you take requests?
A: It's up to you! With your permission we'll take requests from your guests and use our skills and experience to work them into the playlist. And, with over 11,000 songs in our digital music database (and the ability to connect to our online music stores anywhere there is wireless internet access) we can play or get just about every song that has ever been recorded. If, on the other hand, you ask us to only play the music you've preselected, we'll do just that.

Q: Do you take breaks?
A: One of the beneifts of hiring a DJ rather than a live band is that your DJ will take no breaks. Aside from a short run to the bar for a soda (or to the bathroom to make room for more sodas), your DJ will spend his entire evening behind the DJ stand, ready to serve you and your guests with the very best in entertainment services.

Q: Should we tip the DJ?
A: That's up to you! Your DJ is a 'service' employee just like a waiter, cabbie, maitre' d, etc. It is his job to make sure that you and your guests are having nothing less a great time. If you feel he's done his job, he will certainly appreciate a tip. Generally speaking, a tip equal to 20% of your total should be given to a DJ that you consider to be excellent. A tip of 10% should be given to a DJ that did exactly what was expected of him in your mind. If your DJ did not perform at least to the level you expected, do not give a tip. Instead, let us know how your DJ did not perform up to your standards and we will correct the situation with you and with your DJ.

Q: Why do you charge more for weddings than parties & dances?
A: This is one of our favorite questions! At a party or dance, the job that your DJ does is pretty straightforward. Come in, set up, play music, interact with the crowd, tear down, and go home. Weddings, on the other hand, are incredibly more involved. Unless you've hired a wedding planner, your wedding DJ will be responsible for making sure everything goes as you've planned. The guy with the mic is, in all reality, the guy in charge! Your photographer, the caterer, the venue staff, and your guests all look to your DJ to find out what is happening and when it is happening all night long. It's often up to the DJ to make sure that all of the involved people are running on scheudle as well as to make adjustements to the schedule when necessary. Your DJ is often also responsible for 'punting' during the evening - when things don't go as planned, your DJ will step in and use his emcee skills to get things going in the right direction. Everyone from the two of you to your guests to the photographer to the caterer to the venue staff all rely on the DJ for information and guidance.
